Freak!

A glimpse into Carson's dialogue the last couple days (note: always said in a completely innocent and normal tone)....

"Did you see all the freakin' sand I brought home in my wagon?"

"Mom I'm freakin' done with my lunch."

"I need a freakin' snack"

"Are we going to make a freakin' cake?"

"I love this freakin' bath."

You get the picture:) So hard not to laugh at his high little voice saying it- but note to self to seriously be more careful with what we say in front of him....or not in front of him! Probably time to lose bad habits all together!

Teeth are Over-rated

Just in case you were wondering how it feels to have multiple teeth, rip through your soft and gentle little gums, Brynlee would like to share....

After a couple days of high fevers I think we finally have a tooth surfaced. Don't worry though 3-4 more are just around the corner. Apparantly my kids not only teeth really late, but are bombarded with multiple at once...probably to make up for lost time. Hey she did beat Carson's first tooth at 14 months though!

California Livin'

A couple highlights of the last couple weeks......

Brynlee loves the beach but decided the sand doesn't taste all that great! Who knew? But then again, you always have to try something before you judge so she helped herself to a couple handfuls.
We fell completely back in love with our life in Cali after the warm weathered beach days last week. You just can't beat it! A little tease for what's in store this summer...let the countdown begin!

Matt and I had an amazing V-day starting Wed. with tickets to go see "Wicked." I could go weekly! We both loved, loved, loved it! Plus anytime I see dancers...I'm re-motivated to find a dance class and become a professional dancer! Since that was our night out, on Thursday he surprised me bringing home cheesecake factory for dinner. (insert singing Hallelujah) LOVE their food! I'm pretty sure the way to my heart is through my stomach. Seriously, I don't want flowers or a card, but bring home a carton of ice cream and i'm yours!

A blog of randomnicities

This is the kind of post that comes out when you are in a blog stupor.

* I'm realizing that unless i'm 2 steps behind my kids at all times the house will never be clean. I'm pretty sure that when you have 2 kids the workload triples. And seriously, on a side note, how can a small little family of four go through so much laundry?

*Let me count the ways i'm getting old...no, nevermind, that's a downer- but I have had have a few sad realizations lately that reminded me i'm on the up and up. For one, I need at least a day of recooperation after any big event. Then there's my radio preset that is often set to kyxy soft and easy. Not to mention my 10 o'clock bedtime. Okay I'm done!

*Sometimes the "terrible 2's" don't rear their ugly heads until the 3's.

*Target brings way to much joy to my life and the jury's still out on whether or not I think that's a healthy thing! I love it and it has pretty much become a mandatory weekly outing....not to mention, very do-able with the popcorn and soda combo for $1.

*I now drink too much soda, and i'm blaming it on target!

*Carson can always make me laugh with his endleess observations and curiousity...a couple weeks ago he went on an outing with Grandpa Brown and here's a clip of their conversation... "Grandpa where did your hair go?" "I lost it" "Oh, that's okay, I will help you find it!"

*I become quite the sleep natzi when my kids are asleep, so sorry if you're ever around. My kids moods are completely dependent on whether or not they have enough sleep, and my mood is dependent on theirs! So, don't mess with a sleeping child.

*Patience is going to be an ongoing lesson to be learned...probably forever, hopefully one of these days i'll show signs of improvements. But, why do kids find so much joy in emptying cupboards, drawers, boxes, shelves, etc?... over and over again. I think it's because it's an activity a 1 yr. old and 3 yr. old can do together in peace.

*When Carson says "daddy your supposed to live here" I think that means daddy's been working a little too much! I don't have very nice words for tax season.

*Before kids, going to the grocery store was a quick stop...Post kids, it's the big outing for the day! Woohoo

*No matter what your kids do, if you watch them sleeping, you can forgive them of anything. Seriously nothing better in the world!

Have a Little Fun....Today

Well i'm a week late on our Ellen adventures, but better late than never! Last monday Mariah got standby tickets to the "Ellen" show and invited Lori and I. SO FUN!!!!!!!!!!!! Now don't judge, if you can look past Ellen's lifestyle choices, she is actually really funny. We had a blast living up what we have dubbed "Ellen Day" with no kids for over 12 hours...woo hoo! I think the best part was just being able to do whatever you wanted whenever. There's nothing like good ole' freedom. Since we were going to be in L.A we decided to do the touristy L.A thing and hit up Beverly hills. I'm pretty sure our picture taking (setting the timer and running) didn't give it away at all that we weren't locals.

Nonetheless we had fun. Since Beverly Hills shopping was just a wee bit out of our price range, we did some taste testing at 2 popular L.A cupcake joints: "Sprinkles" and "crumbs" I vote Crumbs just in case your interested. If you compare them to ice cream, Sprinkles is like Vanilla, simple, classy and tasty. Crumbs on the other hand is like fully loaded cookies and cream or butterfinger, piled high with lots of topping which definitely my favorite part...plus they had flavors like boston cream pie, hostess, cotton candy, carmel apple, double dutch chocolate fantasy galore (or something like that.)
But, the real excitement happened at Sprinkles. San Diego Channel 8 Newsman, Larry Himmel, was doing a special on Sprinkles and so he interviewed us and bought our cupcakes. Too bad I couldn't get my post up in time to advertise our news appearance on thursday. They edited out all our speaking parts anyway, but we did get 4 different shots. We thought it was cool anyway!

Larry Himmel was nice enough to pose with us :)

Pic of mini "crumb" cupcakes!
Aren't they cute???

Sorry, this is going on and on...seriously you don't have to read on. Next off to Ellen, and I won't spend too much time on her because we didn't get in:(
Which was actually okay because there were totally lame guests and we still got to go in the riff-raff room and we got guarenteed tickets to another show....So Ellen Part II will be coming in March :) Stay Tuned.
We also got offered tickets to Ellen's grammy special were she will interview a lot of the winners, and sadly had to turn it down because it was on a sunday. HUGE Bummer, but then I realized I probably don't know a lot of the young and hip grammy nominees anymore.. i'm a little out of the loop!

We stopped at El Torito Grill on the way home and ate ourselves sick, but had a great time doing it!
Special thanks to grandmas who took care of our little kiddos so we could have such a fun day. Grandmas are the best!!!
We were pretty exhausted by the time we got home, but couldn't resist one final stop at the grocery store! If your a grocery game fan, you know monday is a prime shopping day. We're nerds, sorry girls, i'm a nerd, but I just can't help it! It was seriously such a fun fun fun day!!!!! Can't wait for Ellen day part II
